We are aware that some people in our Property Owners family have already lost shifts or are completely out of work for the time being, and our hearts go out to you in this complicated time. We have gathered some resources below to assist you in applying for financial help and accessing other resources, should you need them.
If you are unable to work, you may be eligible for government support. They have simplified their application process, temporarily raised their Jobseeker Payment, and have waived their waiting period; to better assist those affected by the pandemic. They have also brought in the Jobkeeper payment, for those who are still connected to their workplace. If you have recently been stood down or lost shifts due to COVID-19 this is something that you should discuss with your employer. If they are an eligible business, then the Government will pay $1500.00 of your wage per fortnight in order to keep you connected with and (if possible under the current guidelines) working for your employer. If you are able to work, you can register for a variety of different jobs, which have just been created under the Working for Victoria Fund, here: https://www.vic.gov.au/workingforvictoria
